John 1:10-12 (King James Version)
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Word Wealth
Received : to receive near, that is to associate with
oneself; to obtain; to take, get a hold of.
Power - {Greek} Exousia Pronounced (ex-oo-see'ah) : Ability, privilege,
that is (subjectively) force, capacity, capacity, competency, freedom,
or (objectively) mastery superhuman strength,
delegated influence: authority, jurisdiction,
liberty, power, right, strength.
James 1:21-25 (King James Version)
21Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness,
and receive
with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your
own selves.
23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and
straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth
therein,
he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Deuteronomy 4:1-4 (King James Version)
1Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and
unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them,
that ye may live, and go in and possess the land
which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
2Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you,
neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may
keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor:
for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy
God hath destroyed them from among you.
4But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of
you this day.
Deuteronomy 4:29-35 (King James Version)
29But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him,
if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee,
even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient
unto his voice;
31(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee,
neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
32For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee,
since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from
the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such
thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
33Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the
midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
34Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another
nation,
by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand,
and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to
all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God;
there is none else beside him.
Luke 5:4-6 (King James Version)
4Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon,
Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night,
and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their
net brake.
Matthew 19:16-30 (King James Version)
16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master,
what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder,
Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what
lack I yet?
21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast,
and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had
great possessions.
23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you,
That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the
eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can
be saved?
26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men
this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have
forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have
followed me,
in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory,
ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters,
or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands,
for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
