Restoration House Community Center
RHCC is an extension of the local body of Divine Restoration Ministries. Through Restoration House Community Center many lives have been changed for the better. RHCC is the brain child of Apostle-Elect J. Richard Evans, Sr. It is Apostle’s vision to fulfill the Great Commission by taking the gospel to the people by feeding the masses, naturally and spiritually.
Our mission is to bring total restoration to the lives of individuals and the communities in which they reside. We intend to utilize the best of all human resources including but not limited to developing employable skills, continuing education, enhancing talents, providing human services in an effort to revitalize Metro-Detroit residents. We view the provisions of key necessities i.e. food, shelter, employment, child care, and educational assistance as a means to accomplish this mission. Further, as we join hands with other community organizations, government agencies, business and private citizens we look forward to providing excellence in all of our programs and activities, so that the citizens of the Metro-Detroit area that are served by our facility has the experience of receiving high quality services in an accessible, friendly atmosphere. RHCC is an expanding resource center and consistently looking for ways to effect change in the lives of those we serve. The participants that are eligible for services through RHCC will not be discriminated against because of age, disability, gender, race, religion or any other protected class. For addition information on services, programs and resources available through RHCC you may contact.
Thursday Outreach
RHCC offers free food and clothing to the community every Thursday. During this time we also serve as a Referral Service, helping members of our community find much needed resources like Substance Abuse Programs, Food Assistance, Housing Referrals, Health Care resources, Utility Assistance, and much more. In the past year, we have serviced and registered thousands of families during our Thursday outreach. This number is growing largely because of our Community Food Pantry.
Summer Breakfast and Lunch Program
This summer RHCC facilitated the Free Summer Lunch Program sponsored by the Detroit Health Department. The summer lunch program met a great need in that most children who are eligible for free and reduced priced lunches suffer hunger during the summer. With the help of the DHD, we were able to serve over eight hundred lunches to children in our community this summer.
Church Without Walls – Real Examples of Restoration in Action
True to the vision, lives are being restored naturally, spiritually, and financially. Real life examples are found in our local congregation. Apostle Evans takes the Process of Restoration very seriously, and unlike most his age, he takes a personal interest in how the process unfolds in the lives of those around him. Because RHCC is a volunteer-based ministry, it has been found most affective to have participants serve as part of their Restoration Process. The hands-on-training has done wonders for their self-esteem as they now see themselves being effective and in control for once in their lives.
Gifts For All God’s Children
RHCC has participated in the Gifts For All God’s Children Program for the last seven years. This program matches needy families with Donor Families who sponsor them giving them a much better Christmas than they may have otherwise hoped for. RHCC has adopted 2 schools for teenage parents in the past seven years, allowing them to participate in this wonderful program in addition to our local community.
